Start-up Fundraiser; A Letter from the Board President

Hello.  My name is Dave Miller, thank you for your interest in this project.   I need your help to make a difference in the lives of our nation’s veterans.  These are real people with real challenges.  Did you know, according to two independent nationally recognized research foundations, in 2016, an estimated 300,000 veterans died because they could not get or afford emergent care through the U.S. Veterans Administration.

When I learned of this statistic I was appalled... for the second time.  You see, In 2017, I had a surgical procedure, and I developed serious complications.  It was 2:00 in the morning, and I awoke in excruciating pain.  Sweat was literally pouring from my body.  I could hardly stand up.  I called the nearest V.A. Hospital and told the ER nurse that I needed an ambulance.  She PUT ME ON HOLD!!  When she returned, I told her my symptoms and condition and she told me she didn’t have the authority to authorize an ambulance and that I needed to call back during regular hours.  I became ENRAGED and told her to hell with that, I’m going to the nearest ER!  Fearing how I was going to afford a $1600.00 ambulance ride, I called my brother and told him I was calling an ambulance despite the cost and was on my way to the ER.  He said “I can be there faster, I’ll take you.”  After arriving at the ER I was told by the Dr. that if I were delayed one hour more, I would be visiting the morgue and not the ER, because they had found that I was in renal failure.  As I lay there in my hospital bed for the next week, I decided that I wasn’t going to let this happen to other Veterans.  That’s when I began researching Veterans Care as provided by the V.A., and found it to be severely deficient and bogged down in red tape and seemingly endless delays. All at the expense of our forgotten Veterans.

I have an overwhelming desire to support our Veterans.  These brave men and women who have given so much to protect and defend our country....keeping our nation free. They sacrificed so much to protect our freedoms and yet when their service was discharged, they were all but forgotten.  I strongly feel that every Veteran deserves the benefits promised when he was released from active duty. To that end, I have created this project, Veteran Medical Emergency Transport, Inc., whereby VetMET can provide prepaid memberships in local ambulance programs at no out-of-pocket ambulance costs to Veterans..

To make this possible join me in raising $50,000.00.

Here’s a challange:  Give up one movie, or fast food meal or a latte for just this week and donate $10.00 to VetMET. That’s less than thirty-five cents a day to help a Vet, possibly to save a life.

Not only are you helping one of our proud Veterans, but you’ll be helping their families as well.   You see, we’ve arranged for all of their immediate family to be covered as well.  How comforting for them to know they won’t have to worry about the heavy financial burden brought on by an emergency ambulance ride to the hospital.

Our team is committed, and we need your support.  Veteran Emergency Medical Transport,Inc or VetMET meets this unique and vital need.  We would love to provide this opportunity to struggling Veterans in our country.

Join me in making VetMET available to our Veterans by helping us raise $50,000 or more.  To learn more and discover if you also could benefit, go to www.facebook.com/myvetmet  and click on the blue donate button.  Thank you for your generous donation!  Feel free to contact us for more valuable information at info@myvetmet.org to learn additional ways you can help our project.

Thank you for supporting our Veterans and their families.
